More than 200 graduates received diplomas at the Dover Business College Summer Commencement ceremony held on July 16. Students from the Clifton and Dover campuses earned career-specific diplomas in the fields of healthcare, business, and information technology.

“Many of you have worked or taken care of family members while you attended college, and you have persevered,” Timothy D. Luing, President of Dover Business College, told the graduating class. “You went above and beyond to get where you are today. Don’t just be average when you go to work each day. Go above and beyond. Make a difference.”

Commencement Speaker Larry Trenk, Chief Operating Officer, Surgem LLC, told the graduating class to take the skills and knowledge they have gained at Dover out into the business world and to always strive to achieve their best.

“Along the way you will meet many challenges,” Mr. Trenk said. “Your ability to deal with adversity, and how you cope with the challenges and demands that are made upon you – both in your personal and professional life – will speak volumes about your character.”

Mr. Trenk earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from George Washington University and has been an integral part of the ambulatory surgery center industry for 30 years.  During his career he participated in the development and management of dozens of ambulatory surgery centers in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and Florida.  In his current position at Surgem he oversees operations for 10 surgery centers.  Mr. Trenk is President of the New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Heart and American Stroke Associations.

Dover Business College, with locations in Clifton and Dover, NJ, is a nationally accredited private college with a 53-year history of preparing students for careers.  Dover offers programs in the areas of healthcare, business, and information technology.
