The Database Administration & Support program provides students with a solid background in Microsoft Access, Oracle Database 10g Administration, and Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Students learn to address critical database functions and gain the technical skills required to write basic Transact-SQL queries for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level positions in database administration and support.

Advanced Database Applications Database management software such as Microsoft Access is used to develop and implement database systems, multiple database query files, and reports.

Database Administration/Oracle Database 10G Administration Provides students with knowledge of basic database administration tasks and an understanding of the Oracle database architecture and how its components work and interact with one another.

Database Administration/Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Database Administration Provides students with the knowledge and skills required to install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot the client-server database management system of Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Students gain the technical skills required to write basic Transact-SQL queries for Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

Computer Support Strategies Capstone course where students focus on and refine their ability to communicate with; interpret and analyze problems for; and provide technical assistance, support, and advice to clients and other users. Students use automated diagnostic and help desk programs to interpret problems and to provide effective solutions and technical support for hardware, software, and systems.

Network Technologies Provides students with a comprehensive foundation in network concepts and terminology including local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), routing and internetworking, application support protocols, and network operating systems.

Network Operating Systems Emphasis is on the administration and management of files, processes, memory, user accounts, and input/output devices of major network operating systems such as Windows 2003 Server and Microsoft Windows /XP. Provides a solid foundation for CompTIA A+ Operating System exam as well as for the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) 70-290 and 70-270 exams.
