Student Services

Dover Business College provides students with a wide range of support services to encourage their success at school and beyond.

The goal of both the Academic Support Center and the Student Development and Campus Life departments is to provide an environment that can foster students academic, social, and professional development.

Registration
All new students meet with an Assistant Dean, Advisement, to discuss their academic program.

Orientation
Orientation provides new students with information regarding the services available at the College. This program acquaints students with their peers and faculty, helps students feel comfortable in their new surroundings, and encourages them to become active participants in campus life. Orientation is mandatory.

Academic Advisement
Students benefit from the College’s academic advisement program. Assistant Deans, Advisement, in collaboration with the Department Chairs, guide students in their programs and may meet regularly with them to review academic progress and encourage the achievement of their educational goals.

Libraries: On Campus and Online
Both locations maintain libraries that support the academic programs of the College. Wireless Internet access is offered at each location. The libraries are open Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 am - 8:30 pm, and Fridays from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Academic librarians are available to assist in navigating the electronic resources and locating materials within the Dover collection and/or affiliated college libraries and the public library system. The academic librarians can help students develop a deeper understanding of how to find, interpret, and use many types of information -- a valuable skill in today’s workplace.

The online library meets the needs of students across town or halfway around the world. The library website organizes the collection of electronic databases, e-books, reference tools, assignment support, and other helpful features that are accessible whenever students need them. Online students have full access to all campus library resources and services via remote entry to electronic databases and web-based request forms, and may borrow materials which are delivered by mail. Academic librarians are often participants in the online class environment and help online students develop the skills needed to find, interpret, and use many types of information. The online library always is open.
